Let me start by saying this: I’ve been to Panama nine times.
If you had asked me after my first trip whether I’d be back, I would’ve laughed and said, “Probably not.”
Yet here we are… nine visits later.
There’s just something about Panama that keeps pulling me back. Maybe it’s how easy it is to get to, maybe it’s the energy of the city, or maybe it’s because every time I visit, I discover somewhere new that makes me want to plan the next trip before I’ve even left.
If you’re a foodie, Panama City deserves a spot on your travel list.
The skyline reminds me of Miami, with towering buildings overlooking the ocean, but it has its own personality. Expect heat, humidity, and a hairstyle that probably won’t survive the day. Trust me, embrace the ponytail.
One of my favorite things about Panama City is how diverse the food scene is. Whether you’re looking for a rooftop cocktail, fresh seafood, sushi, or comfort food, you’ll find it. And honestly, I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface.
These are some of my favorites so far:
- Osaka Toscana– One of my favorite spots for sushi with beautiful views.
- Coswey – Fresh ceviche that always hits the spot at any restaurant.
- Salvaje– Go for the drinks, stay for the atmosphere and live shows.
- Lima Panama – Delicious Peruvian cuisine.
- Bella’s Grill – Great desserts with an even better view.
- Crepes y Waffles – Always a solid choice when you’re craving something sweet or savory. Always a must for me!
- La Vespa – My go-to when I’m in the mood for Italian.
- Benihana – Reliable Asian cuisine that’s always a fun experience.
- Alma– Beautiful rooftop for drinks, dinner, or sunset views.
- Casa Blanca – A rooftop in Old Town worth adding to your itinerary.
The best part? This list is nowhere near finished.
Every trip, I leave with another restaurant recommendation from a local or stumble upon a place I wish I’d found sooner. So I’ll keep updating this guide as I continue exploring Panama, one meal at a time.
